ORTHODOX ACADEMY OF CRETE

The Orthodox Academy of Crete (OAC) is a modern Conference Center situated in an exceptionally beautiful location only a few meters from the sea, and next to the Gonia Monastery (17th Century). It is situated 24 kilometers from the city of Chania (or Canea), and 39 kilometers frοm its international airport. The OAC is an independent non-profit Institution, reporting to the Metropolis of Kisamos and Selinon, and operating under the spiritual protection of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople.

Conference experience and Infrastructure
Since its opening in 1968 until the end of 2015, more than 2.200 conferences have taken place, of which over 50% were on an international level. The OAC offers all the facilities necessary to meet the most demanding requirements. It provides:
– a multi-purpose hall with a capacity of 730 people that can be divided into 3 independent rooms (2×250 and 1×70 persons),
– a conference room with a capacity of 120 people
additional 6 meeting rooms (1×60, 2×30, 1×20 and 2×10 seats), offices for consultations, secretariats, areas for exhibits, and also charming places for outdoor events.

Equipment
The OAC is fully equipped with the apparatus and systems modern technology offers in order to cover all conference needs. Among these are: three independent systems of simultaneous translation with 7 translator booths, video projectors, slides and overhead projectors, screens, audio and visual recording of conferences, mobile loudspeaker systems, internet room, wireless internet connection, photocopiers, satellite antenna, VCR, DVD, poster boards, etc.
